None of that Twitter mob was gonna buy the game anyway, but this sniveling capitulating is sure gonna make the actual audience think twice. Remind me, did anyone at Sony or Sucker Punch speak out to condemn threats and harassment Erika faced?

Not only were they not going to buy Yotei, as far as I can tell most of the so called "true fans" never played Tsushima. At the very least they didn't even make it more than an hour, because it feels like they'd have a lot to say (negative) about Lady Adachi and her whole deal.
A lot of these guys don’t really play video games. At best, they only play CoD and 2K Sports.
gambling-addicted 25-40 somethings who spend most of the work day placing bets, and their time off getting absolutely shitfaced and passing out ten minutes into south park
I'd argue that some of them were gonna buy the game. And they would have regardless because they don't actually give a shit, just pretending to.
By the way, the dev they fired over a joke seems like an absolute class act, standing by the studio and coworkers and showing the kind of integrity the studio head should have, instead of folding to right wing pressure campaign and jeopardising something a lot of people worked hard on for years.
I mean, there've been devs, good peoples, who’ve said stuff like this about companies like Ubisoft/Activision. Ultimately, I think it’s moreso just a means of avoiding burning bridges, cause this behavior from SP execs, is in no way okay and should 100% be called out with anger
The fact they are still saying this about a company that had no qualms throwing them to the trash in an instant, despite how long they’ve been with that studio, if it isn’t just to avoid burnt bridges, I just will never comprehend. corpo execs will never give you the respect and honor you give them
Seeing how the man had been in the studio for a decade, which is something few people under corporate ownership could even dream about, he most likely not only predated the turn to a more corporate mindset, but had the same relationship with the job as people whose bosses knew every employee by name
Bingo!
A good person and a good developer. Not only an absolute clusterfuck for the studio's PR, but also a loss to the team. Absolutely inexcusable, and it's a shame that more people didn't stand up for them. If I was told to fire someone like this, I'd be tending in my resignation.
Honestly would the right-wing hate mob even notice if Sucker Punch rehired him? Just stick a mustache on him like that Robot Chicken sketch.
As always, management needs a swift kick in the arse.
Or they were going to buy it anyways, and bitch the whole time. Eitherway, pandering to them does nothing but invite these guys to hang around and annoy the fuck out of you & your staff, and that makes 0 sense as a business strat.
