Executive orders only work as long as the president is in office. The next administration will erase them. The constitution is constant. You can't change it without the people and a majority. They might have both houses but not enough to change anything permanent. At least that is what I heard.

Marco Rubio was born 1971 in Miami FL to Cuban non citizen immigrants. Rubio’s parents had been in the US as Cuban immigrants since 1956 (before Castro). Rubio’s parents became US Citizens in 1975, 4 years after Marco’s US birth.
And yet Rubio was allowed to run for POTUS as a natural born citizen. If Trump has his way with this EO, people like Rubio will be ineligible.

Why is this even given credibility? The EO should have been ripped up, the Congress initiated impeachment as a result of issuing an EO with such over reach and unconstitutional directive and the Supreme Court should have weighed in and said, no. EO are directives for federal agencies. Not laws.

If our highest court can't discern the specific language of the 14th Amendment -- "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, ARE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES" -- then they are utterly useless. I don't think they'll do that, but we'll find out.
I don’t think they’re debating this case on the merits. Instead, it’s a procedural question of who can bring a case and where. Which can have big implications for other, unrelated cases.
It is there on the procedural issue regarding the power of lower courts, but the substantive issue of birthright citizenship permeates the entire discussion and may determine the outcome.

Presidential immunity did not overturn the specific words of the constitution, as this would. They have already ruled against him on deportation - although their enforcement is wanting - I do not believe they'd hesitate to do the same here. As I said, we'll see.
