History teaches us that the press usually ignores or simply doesn’t grasp the march toward authoritarianism. And by the time they do, they’re reporting on the “sudden collapse of democracy” like it was a freak weather event.
I see it more as intentional spin in the hope of gaining favor or at least not becoming a target. The “news” is supposed to present the facts in a truthful, nonpartisan manner, while spin is saved for the opinion pages. The NYT and others seem to be spin from cover to cover now. It’s not helping!

Considering that to my knowledge the only thing you need to do to MAKE money in real estate is to have the capital to purchase some decent properties and hire someone to do very basic maintenance once in a while, then sell some on occasion, it's an achievement (of the bad kind) to lose money.
