Not a huge sci fi reader, but my favorite Ive come across is Frank Herbert’s pandora/worShip series. The void book is a little techy but necessary, just glaze over that stuff and get through it for the sake of the rest of the series. Of course the Dune books allude to the disasters of AI as well
