In fairness, I actually didn't know about them until I spent time in Germany and saw everyone shop with them. At first I was like, "Wow you can haul a lot Aufschnitt with that." But then I saw teenagers haul cases of their cheaper than water beer and I was like, "Oh....."
haha! in chicago it was mostly old ladies i feel like but i got very inspired .. i donโt use mine as often as i should but man its handy nonetheless
Well I mean this was Germany so 16 year olds can have beer but probably don't have cars, so it makes sense. But yeah in my neighborhood, it usually old ladies too.
yeah haha that makes perfect sense itโs just funny to think of the disparity โฆ
Well if you have good public transport and walkable cities EVERYONE benefits - including kids. I am super jelly of the kids because they get to be free and wonder and be little adults.
I've always thought it was absolutely bizarre how no one in the US thinks to use a cart
It's like walking a block or two. That's for poor people who can't afford cars.
had a coworker once. car broke down. i let her know, hey, thereโs a bus that literally stops in front of your house and two blocks from work! same route! runs every fifteen minutes! she was incensed iโd ever suggest such a thing lmao
We had a something similar with the Hollywood Bowl. The subway stops by our place and stops a few blocks from the Bowl. When we recommend to a friend to come to our place and take the train together, they didn't want to be with "the poors." She later complained it took her 2-hours to leave.
I gave away a mattress topper in the middle of Edinburgh via a local group, and the woman messaged me to explain that my flat was in the Low Emission Zone and her car is too old and not allowed in it. I was so stunned it took me a while to suggest catching a bus, which was a very novel idea to her.
i was about to say moving a mattress by bus would be super ambitious, then realized i missed a word โฆ.. a mattress *topper* โฆ man.
Yeah, we're talking IKEA bag sort of job. She brought a wheeled suitcase and it fit in nicely. I live in an incredibly good area for buses, it was dropping her off a three minute walk away at most.
