Today, December 15, 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of "Young Frankenstein" directed and co-written by Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder. Its one of Mel Brooks' most refined works, not considered as funny as 'Blazing Saddles' and 'The Producers' but a better film youtu.be/2p5AG0Tqh3A?...

In my humble opinion, “Blazing Saddles” and “Young Frankenstein” are equally funny. I remember laughing just as hard and for as long at both. “Blazing Saddles” made more of a social statement, but I didn’t realize that until much later.

The run he had from The Producers through History of the World is epic. Every movie is great.

One day in the late 70s my family was at a red light in Manhattan, and my dad notices Henny Youngman crossing. He rolls down the window and yells, “Hey, Henny, there’s a fly in my soup!” Which is Henny’s line in his Silent Movie cameo. He waved at us and kept going.
