Reform UK, which has a grand total of four MPs, was just given an uninterrupted platform for an hour and a half on the BBC and Sky News channels, in order to talk about its plans for mass deportations When was the last time the Greens (with four MPs) or the Lib Dems (with 72) were given the same?

I despair at those saying they'll vote for reform. Gateway paryt to more intolerance, ultimately leading to war (that's where it *always* ends). Another generation being told to serve, ending up mentally broken, then returning home to no social support. All because their parents voted right-wing.

Zero foresight. They're entirely tunnel-visioned on 'the boats', completely ignoring that they're gonna lose their NHS, lose their social supports. If they stopped the boats, those voters will still be angry, and they'll find something else to blame, because some man in a suit tells them to.

I *loathe* using 'slippery slope' logic, but history shows us that that's how it goes. It starts with blaming some group for all of the problems in society. Blame turns to unrest. Unrest turns to riots. Riots turn to violence. Violence leads to an uprising of extremist ideals.

I'm a few days late, but I compained. My letter, if anyone wants to steal it. It's a nice round 2000 characters:

The BBC's news output across live channels (e.g. BBC News Channel), discussion programmes (e.g. Newsnight) and published articles (e.g. BBC News Online) has a demonstrable and blatant bias towards coverage of a minority extremist political group, Reform. Independent studies have demonstrated their their spokesman, Nigel Farage, has received more hours/lines of coverage on the BBC than any other individual in British politics in recent months. Even when Farage and Reform are not involved in stories, the BBC actively seeks out their opinions or makes comparisons to them, creating the impression that Reform and Farage are a touchstone against which other political stances can – and, indeed, absolutely must – be compared. Equally, stories that should reflect poorly on Farage and Reform tend to avoid making the association, the BBC shrugging off it’s responsibility of holding them accountable for the many consequences of their actions. Recently, the BBC broadcast a ninety minute speech by Farage which independent fact-checkers have demonstrated to be almost exclusively lies, that senior police officials have branded as 'dangerous', and human rights advocates have called 'terrifying', but this live coverage was provided unfiltered and unchallenged on the BBC's flagship news channel. Meanwhile, similar speeches given by the leaders of the Scottish National Party, Liberal Democrats, Paid Cymru, the Conservatives, Your Party and, indeed, by the Prime Minister himself have not even received a mention. The bias is blatant, yet rather than counter or even try to deny it, senior BBC staff have openly and gleefully confirmed that Reform, Farage and their allies receive disproportionately large coverage and have their words go unchallenged due to their presence in the public conversation, disingenuously and dangerously ignoring that the BBC - arguably more than any other organisation - guides that conversation. It is well past time the BBC acted like the PSB it is meant to be.

Nandy was never right for a ministerial post of any sort. She's unconvincing in television interviews, lacks technique and often seems poorly prepared. She should have tackled BBC bias head on, unless she was instructed otherwise - in which case she she should have spoked out or resigned.

Or somehow shoehorn citizen oversight into it's governance. Something has to change about both its editorial management structure and its political guidelines and use of unweighted 'both sideism'. And that might be a better way to effect change than simply sacking people. Though do that as well! 🤣

Starmer is probably resigned to being the first Labour leader to lose Wales in next year's Senedd elections but I really didn't expect to see him 100% AWOL and anonymous whilst the extreme right just grasp 24/7 media and totally control the narrative under his nose. He's giving his country up.

I don't think starmer even knows we are here. Interactions with MP I get boiler plate whips reply. This will hurt Labour, how bad we shall see. But by heck it will hurt Wales if that oik ever gets power here. Immeasurably.

Sure but the likelihood of reform winning more than 50% of the seats is tiny. Even if they formed a coalition with the tories, or a looser agreement, it is a very unlikely scenario.

aware of it. But devolved powers means I can work out where nige would go if the worst happens, he can ruin us. But for No10 to learn that lesson, we must suffer first, KS could lose us all together. Unfortunately I hear snippets of "yer, but nige can sort it" here and there.

Also complicated. Plaid worry me but Senedd elections they can do well, National, they will never hold UK power and I would want to keep Ref and Con out. Means Lab as Lib/Grn next to no votes here. But No10 disaffects Lab voters, do they bother. Lot of votes here.

Have you seen what is happening to Labour in the opinion polls. You, and others like you, sticking with them to keep out Reform could be the thing that enables Reform to beat the Green/Lib Dem candidate by a small margin while the Labour candidate is an also-ran.

Last GE, my area. Plaid pulled 3.6k votes, Libs 1.4k Grn 1.6k and ref 7.9k. Lab won on 16.5k. Cons 6k. Guess there are not many Lib or Grn here. Realty of the situation. Though we have a new voting system for the Senedd but still FPTP for GE. My vote is hugely mobile (apart from ref and Con).
