In my limited observation of how these go, the preference reveals often seem more like this

Homemade waffles (lightly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside) are better than pancakes. Eggo waffles are warmed stale crackers and have no place in any discussion about good food.

No matter how soft waffles are when cooked, their speed to concrete is exponentially faster. The only exception: Liège waffles

breakfast hierarchy: french toast > crepes > pancakes

Pancakes are great but I also have neurospicy love for waffles and their ability to hold equal portions pure VT or NY maple syrup.

🤢🤮 My autistic taste buds detest syrup. Maybe because I ate too much of it as a kid. Maybe because it's the ketchup of breakfast condiments. I can't stand it when Mr. Tax eats it because he drowns everything with it, plus the smell lingers 🤢🤮
