Be careful though as these ICE officers may have weapons too and willing to use them. Best to call local police for help.

*I* don’t have a gun. But I don’t know what these guys are thinking, considering the Stand Your Ground rhetoric they’ve been putting out across the country for decades.

Stand Y our Ground law only protects you in you are acting lawfully. Impending a lawful detention of illegal immigrants bonds that.

What if the detention is not lawful? Has any judge ruled that ICE has acted lawfully in these cases?

Law enforcement can legally detain you while investigating a crime. (illegal immigration is a crime) If they have probable cause, they can arrest you. Then they see a judge. I don't know where the idea started that a warrant or a judge is needed prior to an arrest.

You don’t understand basic law.

As we’ve seen again and again, the lawfulness of these cases is often up for debate. How is a kid supposed to know that it’s “unlawful” to ring someone’s doorbell? And yet kids get shot for doing it. That doesn’t spare the victim. That doesn’t avoid a hung jury.
