I'm nowhere near as plugged in as other folks in this conversation, I just see a D making a cynical calculation to further their electoral chances rather than fighting for their allies. I see strategy instead of idealism. Given the current state of things, I'm sick and tired of strategy.

To be fair a lot of people endorsed harrell. It sucks but I have heard if anyone doesn’t and he wins he holds it against them

Here’s a completely feasible and galaxy brain move: Girmay wins KCE but supports Balducci for ST chair. Totally legal and imo would be smart to move KCE out of that leadership position. Regardless, I have no doubt Girmay would do great at ST chair. He’s done well on the board already.

What has he done on the board

As soon as he was appointed, he immediately called listening sessions and brought SDOT to the table to come up with a plan for MLK’s at grade safety problems. This would not have happened without Girmay. Is the plan perfect? No. But he got a big win for our neighborhood right out the gate.

@jrock08.bsky.social can attest to this. Girmay completely changed the conversation around MLK basically overnight after years of excuses and ignoring this problem. There’s finally a real conversation happening around fixing this.
