Big opening for, say, Brad Lander www.nytimes.com/2025/09/01/n...
is that the opposite of The Smirk of the Republicans?
Well, we need young blood!
I was hoping he’d challenge Dan Goldman but this would work too
I’d love to see Brad Lander take that seat.
Schumer and Jeffries will fight tooth and nail for Cuomo.
Not a bad candidate at all! I’d vote for him
Brad Lander is from Brooklyn and isn’t in Nadler’s district
But his name is an anagram, so that should help.
There’s something pleasing about anagrammatic replacement.
Rumpt 2028
I was puzzled but your hint gave me context clues… Nadler —> Lander!
Nah we’re gonna need Lander to primary Schumer in a couple years
You don’t go from comptroller of a city to a senator. 🤦🏼♀️
Fine, fine, high-profile role in the Mamdani administration first
Do their names have to be anagrams?
Lander v Cuomo in the most lopsided primary in district history.
Yes, I know Lander is a Park Slope guy/repped BK in City Council, you do not have to live in a congressional district to run in it (but primarying Goldman is probably a better move for him)
Word on the street is that Lander is not planning to primary Dan Goldman … but someone else is looking into it seriously already.
Interesting!! I’d be curious to know who :)
Would be nice to stave off this guy, who seems like he sucks www.cnn.com/2025/07/30/p...
(All I'm going on re: that assessment is this graf and that he went to Yale, so please feel free to correct me!)
Just had to check he wasn’t part of the Elkind branch of my family. Doesn’t seem to be…
Zero money for people that primary sitting Democrats.
'bout time.
Lander would be great!
Am I the only one expecting Cuomo to announce for it when he loses in November?
Why wait?
Exactly my thought!!!
Thank god. It’s long past time for the old guard to move on.
@bradlander.bsky.social Yes please!!
A new generation is needed fast
Lander doesn’t live in the district. Mark Levine is a good choice though.
Good lord no to Levine. He’s awful and I’m a Dem. We lost Maloney who would have been so much better for my district.
Doesn't need to live in the district to run for the seat, and he was in citywide office long enough to earn cred on the UWS!
Would he need to move there once elected?
Brad Hoylman-Sigal, you know you want to do it (and thus hold a position where you have no power over land use)
I bet Lander could still win it though.
Lander is a BK guy this is a MTN district
Hell yes!!!!!
No one better.
Good man
