Strategy: don't get goaded into fighting pawns when there are kings to put in check.

Sure, but the king is exerting power through the pawns. The pawns could resign, but they aren't. They are, therefore, complicit in the kings game and deserve the same ultimate fate.

oh i agree, but strategic focus is best. i mean don't get me wrong, self defense might force you to make less strategic moves, but it might be what has to be done, to assert your self-ownership.
