BTW- there were no negotiations in WWII - we demanded unconditional surrender from both Germany & Japan and got it.

It's nice knowing that JD Vance is an absolute moron and he proves it every time he speaks.

Not sure if I’d describe Hitler blowing his brains out & dropping 2 atomic bombs on Japan as great examples of “negotiating”.

JD really isn't as wellspoken as people say he is. The message is correct - the formal end of World War 2 was Denazification. But the recognized end was the surrender in May 1945 after we stormed Berlin. So wars actually have two endings - the end of battle, and the end of the underlying conflict.

CF Vance apparently never was exposed to the phrase “unconditional surrender” during his expensive (and useless) Ivy League education. There was no negotiation to end the war in Europe. Hitler had killed himself, and Germany had been pulverized. The Germany surrendered to avoid total annihilation.
