From me today: Squinting at GDP numbers, it's become clear that A.I. is propping up the economy -- not through productivity growth, but simply the sheer amount of money going into physical infrastructure needed to support all the computing power it gobbles up. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/27/b...

if we had a sensible and responsible govt it would require these "data centers" to be powered 100% by their OWN renewable energy sources.

Then again, others describe an ongoing life-or-death AI race between the US & China, where the loser loses big; At least safe to say China has no pesky SocMedia observers carping on the sideline with their frivolous, unreasonable demands time.com/7312305/agi-...

Print-screen from my comment to @4-shadows.bsky.social insistence (below) that we can "safely assume" something "Captains of Industry" are doing; Gee big B.M. guy, this way - which you cannot block - is much more public, many more people get to see it! But you must be allwd to make your mistakes...

This was also a downstream effect (dunno what scale) of the OG internet bubble. The collapse of which left quite a few hardware companies suffering for a while. I expect we'll see the same thing again.

$30-$50B over how many surveyed? Think of A.I. as another labor outsourcing destination. We can safely assume Captains of Industry are not outlaying capex to build functional integration in workflows. It's merely buying a trend, rather than long-term infrastructure, eg. #China @newyorker.com

Everything coming out of M.I.T. should be viewed with additional scrutiny, considering their most infamous graduates are the Koch Brothers! Charles Koch is still alive and kicking at 89. Usually these Nazi bastards die at 88. @nytimes.com

The question was not answered. You're raging out of control & picked the wrong target this time. Typical embedded psychopaths in corporate media en@#$%ifiying platforms, poisoning the well. We can safely assume because Corporate America is T.O.T.A.L C.R.AP.even by capitalist standards. @nytimes.com

Additionally, what has M.I.T. done to repudiate these twins of evil they've mid-wifed? Nothing. In fact, Koch Institute of Technology is complicit. @latimes.com What else are they complicit in? We can only guess. A foever tainted institution. @mitpress.bsky.social www.latimes.com/business/sto...
