John Fetterman is a Democrat, and what a disappointment he turned out to be. Kyrsten Sinema was a Democrat, as was Joe Manchin, and they screwed the party seven ways to Sunday. If all we care about is the color of the ticket, and not the quality of the candidate, we're in serious trouble.

To a point, yes, but the alternate choice in each of those elections was much worse. I can't stand Sinema, Manchin, or Fetterman, but with a binary choice, they were the better option. We need to weed the crap out in the primaries, if possible.

Absolutely - Sinema, Manchin, and Fetterman shouldn't have been allowed to get as far as they did such that they were the only option in the end. People need to care more about the quality of the people they elect all the way through, and then hold them to account before it's too late.

Manchin, for example, was the only Democrat who could have gotten elected in his state. Look at who replaced him.

This is a great point about the importance of primaries

I guess the concept of a Congressional majority eludes you.

Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin were elected as Democrats, occupied 2 seats, and cast their votes with the Republicans every - single - time. What good is a majority if any of the candidates prove to be spoilers? Why push Newson as a Presidential candidate if his policies are identical to the GOP?

No, they didn't vote with the Republicans "every single time". You are spreading disinformation. There are a lot of places in the US where "very liberal" Democrats can't get elected, so we have to run the Democrats who CAN get elected. The Congressional majority is of paramount importance.

I'd rather be disappointed in a Democrat than fucked by a Republican.

Or, and stay with me here, elect better Democrats! Why are we so blinded by one Democrat doing a single good thing that we can't expect more than that from the people we put our faith in? "They're not killing dogs at the gravel pit - let's elect them without any further scrutiny!"

I would love to expect more. I would love to elect better Democrats. But I can't vote for Democrats who aren't running and, given the choice between any Democrat at all and a member of the Fascist Pedophile Party, guess who I'm going to vote for.
