I never hiked again after seeing that as a kid. In fairness I’d never hiked before, but it was a deciding factor to never, ever hike while being of schooling age. Then that carried over I guess and here we are.
saw this for the first time last year and it blew me away. I put it on all the time now just close my eyes and listen to the music and sound design, it’s mesmerizing.
Gas food and lodging and the Spanish film dubbed into Russian with English subtitles, finis terrae
Fav director. His YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY in my top five.

As a buyer of physical media it’s always “Have we seen that, and do we own it?” Not nearly 10,000, but plenty. It’s a great time to pick up older titles before they go oop

I got to see a 35mm showing of it in cinemas last year, Banger experience.
After sitting too long on my watchlist, I finally saw this today. A very immersive experience for me, those last moments! I felt it coming, but when it did happen, it was still very shocking. I'd be thinking of this film for days to come. Makes me wonder if you've read the novel it was based on.
Also, unsurprisingly, it made me think of The Leftovers and the Outlander series.
