how it feels to have never been a harry potter fan
Since the age of ten? I don't think so. He was 21 in the last HP movie.
He was ten when it started?
Ah. I read it as he disavowed JK Rowling since the age of ten. It confused me. Lol. Silly way to word it imo. I don't think that it's significant that he was in the movies since he was ten to the point being made. But I agree with the point.
It's relevant to the point in that people are justifying their refusal to drop the franchise due to being fans when they were young. HP was part of the childhood for a lot of people, Radcliffe especially since he played the titular character & he had no trouble moving on, so why can't everyone else?
That makes sense. I was being reactionary. I should've read it more thoroughly.
It’s okay, it happens. I know I’ve made that mistake MANY times myself xD
Write rpf where Daniel Radcliffe turns into Harry Potter and tells Rowling he quit being a wizard cop and will evada kedavra her in 3 months if she doesn't seek abuser therapy and donate half her fortune to charities that help trans people. Ebenezer Scrooge her. This is the only acceptable way.
I think a lot of these people just don't care or actively don't like trans people because its not even like J K Rowling invented wizards and magic boarding schools so these HP fans could literally get together and just make up some original characters and a new legally distinct wizarding school.
don't forget emma watson and rupert grint the actors of hermione and ron are also trans allies
They will do anything other than read a better book
If Daniel Radcliffe and I ever crossed paths I would offer him a fist-bump, and whether he returns it or not, I feel like he'd immediately understand why it was offered.
To be fair he had already moved on and refused to come back multiple times. His relationship with the franchise was not comfort and nostalgia, it was of a difficult workplace that drove him to alcoholism for multiple years. He didn't drop HP or Rowling to be an ally. He was an ally either way.
or all the trans people for whom it was very formative to them (me) who had no choice but to become disgusted about it all and distance ourselves. It was very hard for me too but I am not whining about it like some cis people do. It rly is just an excuse
It angers me so much, just generally, the whole situation, but also: there are MUCH better books out there. Less plagiarism and more character.
makes me grateful i never got into HP because that shit never interested me to begin with
That is without a doubt the best argument I've seen so far
there are only 2 reasons why I dont burn my potter books, I can't find them and my landlords took my fire pit and as such can't burn them safely
