I don’t know about that. But they doubled down on DEI after the inauguration. And remain supportive of the LGBT community. I think it’s funny trumps spending money with them.

They get the government rate at Marriott, Hilton, and IHG. That’s where they’ll book rooms first.

This part. Filling rooms comes first. Marriott was a pretty good employer when I was in college, but they always wanted a full house

The San Diego local of Unite Here coalesced around the turn of this century in reaction to Marriott's behavior. The union organizer behind that was immediately smeared with allegations of sexual abuse. DEI is just a marketing ploy – no big company really practices it.

I didn’t know the cases, most big companies are bad by nature of being profit driven. But also DEI, when put into practice, is a good thing. I think the fact that they doubled down in the face of Trump, when so many easily dropped it, says it might be more than lip service.

I think they were scared by what happened to Target and recognized that a disproportionately large percentage of their clientele is LGB&c. (That nugget is according to my wife, who worked as a housekeeper for the Marriott brands.) It's all about the Benjamins.
