I think it’s more akin to the fact capitalism is dead, and given the choice between socialism and fascism, the billionaires and the two political parties they own prefer fascism to socialism by 3 to 0.

Wealth doesn’t just lose power under socialism, it loses status and privilege. Fascism exaggerates their wealth, their power, their status, and their privilege.
