When I was in undergrad, someone brought a bee venom infused lip gloss to a party for everyone to try. Apparently, the appeal was that it made your lips look bigger. My curiosity won out, and long story short I could have warned Syvie to stay away from cosmetic shortcuts!

In the 1920's, the craze was a look called "bee stung lips"!

I have never been particularly interested in having larger lips, despite current trends, but I was 18 and just thought 'hmm, I wonder if it does anything at all'. It burned! It definitely did that!

It wasn't quite that bad, but it was not pleasant! Also, swelling from an allergic reaction isn't all that cosmetically appealing anyway
