I just booked my first-ever solo trip to see a friend in California and I'm very nervous and excited about it. It'll be my first trip anywhere in nine years, to boot. 🥳

Welcome to our glorious state. I hope your visit is a vibrant one with beautiful adventures, laughter and delicious food.
direct, or do you bounce through a couple of transfers?
Connecting through Charlotte. Pray for me.
CLT's a pretty nice airport these days. they have rocking chairs!
Safe travels
Welcome.
Welcome to the California Republic.
It's just sinking in that I get to fly over the entire country and see it with my own eyes. The Mississippi River. The flatness of the Plains. The Rockies. A lifetime of watching satellite and radar and seeing other people's pictures, and I'll finally see it for myself. Albeit from 34,000 feet.
Hope you have cloudless skies and a great view! I had a lovely time watching the landscape the last time I flew CA to Massachusetts
Hope this too.
Someday you need to go storm chasing. 🙂
Idea for a movie where the meteorologist passenger saves the day by finding the pilot the best route for escaping stormy weather?
Train and bus home to see it at ground level?
It is truly *such* a treat to get to see the world from that vantage point, I was totally ensorcelled by the clouds during my flights to and from the PNW earlier this month
congrats, it's the promised land
Which part of California are you visiting? Also, Charlotte is a nice airport. They’ve done a bunch of upgrades. If you have time, grab something to eat at one of the restaurants.
Bay Area! I used to pass through Charlotte all the time flying back and forth for college. My only issue is that I remember how small it felt for the number of people it serves.
I misread that as booked first-class.
🎉🙏Learn all you can about full protection against COVID and don’t let your guard down. 😷🥇
You’ll be fine. I’m flying from California to the UK solo for the first time in years next month. No idea if they’ll let me back in once I go.
Do nothing other than enjoy it!
We are friendly and will gladly tell you about more things to do and places to go than you could ever possibly manage!
