This statement about LAUSD is particularly interesting to me. Do you have any recommendations on articles or whatever to learn more about it? I’ve always been at a loss to understand why LA schools fail so badly, and this would seem to be a big part of it
Actually start with that last one. You don’t even need to read the sections before it to get it and it’s a good primer.
Not a good general one off top of my head but an academic one, something close to “politics of Los Angeles schools” is the one I think of first. And then Camille Charles’ “Won’t You Be My neighbor?” Oh maybe the 3rd or 4th section of “Palo Alto” has a good long bit on prop 33, taxes, schools etc
