While I'm very concerned with the security implications, the intermingling of American citizens and Chinese citizens seems to be proving that outside of government, Muppets Take Manhattan was right: peoples is peoples. We're all humans trying to survive. Maybe that's a good thing.

It's actually called "Little Red Book" (Xí hòng Sū) referring to the book of quotations by former authoritarian Communist Party leader, Mao Tse Tung. The movement is done in protest as the app is more of a Pinterest than a TikTok. The much younger Mao was actually once an anarchist, before all that.

It's not antisemitism to advocate for Palestinian people's freedom and to recognize the undertaking of a genocide. It IS antisemitic to equate the Israeli government with all Jewish people. Unless you're a big creator, you can't talk about it on TT or YT without suppression and demonization.

I've been using TT since 2020. The app censoring speech was a MEME, it's why there's so much algorithm-evasion language that evolved from TikTok and creators on YouTube trying not to get their videos taken down. And Meta is a whole other nightmare trying to actually see posts by people you know.
