14yo asked for a chicken quesadilla for dinner but without cheese. So it was just pieces of cooked chicken and sautéed veggies tumbling out of a folded tortilla. I was cheerful on the outside but inside I was making this face 😐

Wait so does that make it a taco, burrito or fajita?
I don’t know!
Perhaps it’s a new invention, a Dilla Tarrjito
Trump didn’t win substack.com/home/post/p-...
the "none pizza with left beef" of quesadillas
Well done, Mom!
I believe that's just a dilla.
The kid needs to learn to speak Spanish
Isn’t that a soft taco?
That is a taco. If you wrap the tortilla, it is a burrito.
:-( It's not the same unless there's something sticking everything together. Still good, but in a wrong sort of way.
That’s pretty much what I said - “how is it going to stick together?” He was happy, though, so I guess that’s all that matters
It’s a wrap
🤣🤣
I told my daughter if she doesn't like cheese that she can't have mac and cheese, cheetos, cheezits, goldfish, cheesecake, etc. She was so shocked lol. This was bc she asked for lunchables pizza w only sauce and no cheese. I was like 😭💀
Try mashing up some black beans or use refried beans to keep that texture and stuff falling out.
Can you make me a grilled cheese sandwich but without cheese?
So, just a dilla? 😀
In Texas, we just call that a taco. 😁
(Also, I think this story is funny, but I will delete it if people start being weird and rude about it)
So, just the dilla, then.
That’s what I said 😂
Hahahahahaha, perfect!
Pollodilla
I know that feeling.
I mean that's like a taco? or something?
That's a chicken burrito.
Real “none pizza left beef” energy
Haha! My granddaughter loves pizza, but with no cheese. Yes, tomato sauce bread. Kids! 😆
Its a fajita!!
I was thinking it sounded pretty good....
Came here to say this
Way to be neutral enough that he didn’t catch on
you just reminded me of an old video, i can't find the original so please ignore the guy on the left and just enjoy the cook on the right www.tiktok.com/@orlandojavi... but also Mexico City quesadillas have no cheese! www.bbc.com/travel/artic...
I’ll let him know!
Rich beat me to it. The "do quesadillas require cheese" is perennial debate in Mexico (Mexico City: no, everyone else yes). It seems you joined team yes.
Will for sure inform my kid about this. He will no doubt be thrilled that Mexico City is on his side lol
Nothing wrong with that.
Before vegan cheese came on the scene, we'd put refried black beans in our quesadillas. We told ourselves it was delicious. 😂😂
A very small Kid2 once asked for plain oatmeal rather than a grilled cheese and that was my face. Along with real concern the hospital must have switched the bassinets and my cheese kid was stuck with an oatmeal family somewhere. Maybe kids do this to prank us? So funny and so confusing.
Hahahaha I can extremely relate. Especially since cheese is one of my top 3 favourite foods. Like you said … could they have been switched at birth?? It seems like the only plausible explanation
How could I have possibly given birth to someone who can live without cheese? Unless God has a real love of practical jokes and miraculously messed with our DNA?
Many (including God) are asking :(
I feel like not teaching them how to eat a taco or a burrito instead is a failed parenting lesson.
A fajita?
Ah, I got the inverse, they only like cheese quesadillas, but not melted. So it's just a cold tortilla with shredded cheddar cheese in the middle. Can't speak to how well I hide it, but this is certainly how it makes me feel.
Hey, when a 14 year old wants protein and veggies, sounds like a win to me! I'm allergic to cheese, so my quesadilla would be minus the queso too. You're a good mom.
I've got picky kids and I'm happy to share that spreading a thin layer of refried beans will stick it all together.
Did they forget the word "taco"?
In Mexico City they make quesadillas without cheese! and the rest of the country is bewildered so he has plenty of company
Kid just got a chicken fajita taco what a boss
Think yourself lucky they're eating vegetables. 😅
Pollodilla.
My 7yo grandson doesn’t like cheese on his pizza. When his older sister said she was going to Italy with me and that we would eat real Italian pizza and some Don’t have cheese. He yelled at her “those are my people” LOL. So your son is in good company.
Haha aw!
That's a soft taco? (Extra Large soft taco, but still?)
Like the 18yo ordering a bacon cheeseburger with no cheese… I feel this!
Lol your kid discovered fajitas and didn’t even know it
I love fajitas. 😋
Reminds me of when I was vegan for a short while, and I ordered a veggie pizza without cheese, not realising cheese's adhesive quality, so what I ended up with was a circle of dough and a motorway pile-up of vegetables in the corner.
Technically, it’s still a quesadilla….CDMX has quesadillas without cheese. Yes, it’s polarizing.
