Dad hasn't processed this yet either. As a nation we crave the sensationalized violence that is becoming US. It is neither normal nor healthy, it inhibits real progress. I don't like living where I can be shot by a lunatic, or picked up by he national police for rights violations. Damn the GOP
I read "The Shipping News" many years ago. It's a Novel about sensationalist journalism in a Newfoundland town. It was a dead ringer for CNN's reporting. I stopped watching CNN then. Then there was that Don Henley song. There is a huge difference between reporting tragedy and exploiting tragedy
