One of the best things about Mamdani is that he seems to view being around people as an opportunity rather than an obligation. While others politicians are avoiding calls, not holding town halls, and running from people, he is hosting a scavenger hunt and seems to enjoy interacting with people.
This is, in my view, a disappearing art. Wanting to be around people really provides broader perspective - something that most politicians these days simply do not possess, and don’t want to. But I think voters are hungry for that interaction and respect.
