Do you see it as infighting, or do you see Jeffries and others like him as enemies?
Do you see it as infighting, or do you see Jeffries and others like him as enemies?
I don't see most Americans as enemies, Jeffries included. I think he is the torch bearer of a dying political movement that has a demographic that is largely out of touch with the experience of normal people, and certainly with the populist elements of the electorate. He is an ineffective ally.
The majority of Black Americans are out of touch with "normal people"? I very much agree that we're out of touch with the populist elements of the electorate, though...thank goodness.
I wouldn't define anyone, on the basis of race as not "normal people".
And yet...
Which Americans *do* you see as enemies?
Oh gosh. The fascists who understand that they're fascists, maybe the fascists who don't, but I think they're persuadable.
"Persuadable fascists"?
I didn't say quite that. People who are fascists and don't realize it are potentially persuadable. People often fall into political movements for shallow reasons unrelated to their actual convictions. I think there are Trump supporters who would not consider themselves fascist even though he is.
Sounds like a punk band name.
Only if they were persuading them with fists.
Infighting isn't a thing. There's being PRIVILEGED and settling while letting marginalized people be destroyed, or there's working to make things better, which includes holding your politicians accountable.
