Really feels like the Jonathan Kuminga-Warriors situation is a case of who blinks first. No matter what happens with the next deal, I'd be surprised if that relationship continues beyond the upcoming season, if it lasts that long.

Considering they were reportedly asking for a 1 year deal with the trade option vacated... Isn't this just a version of that deal? I'm not sure what the process is right now. As long as the balloon payment stays below 24M they should be fine, no?
8 seed w Kuminga, 8 seed without him
3-1 seems like Warriors have moved. Double the guaranteed money. Turning down an extra $40 million in guarantees seems crazy to me. Shams/Slater said he has bought loss of value insurance. Any insights on how that works in practice? Just injury protection?
Yeah, basically. It's gross to compare a human being to a car, but it kind of works like car insurance. If he's injured and loses out on future contract value, the insurance can cover some of it.
