Has anyone seen The Order on Prime? Is it good? I came across the true story while researching my book (the Order were apocalyptic survivalists as well as neo-Nazis) so I’m intrigued

It’s a solid three stars. Good performances but outstays its welcome a wee bit.
I watched it last week on the recommendation of a friend. Once I got past the fact that Jude Law bore a startling resemblance to one of my cousins circa 1995 I really enjoyed it. Rattles along, and given the way of the world these days seems remarkably prescient.
I’m not a film buff, but ithought the film was excellent and of the Jude Law films I have seen this was by his by far his performance.
Saw it in the actual cinema the night it opened. It's not bad.
It worked quite hard to get at the ideology but could have done with more depth on what drove people into it. Kind of a companion piece to Talk Radio, which is also inspired by the murder of Alan Berg and was onto this stuff in 1988.
Average, I thought.
It's a solid, not blow-you-away, thriller. Jude Law is great.
Worth a watch if you've a spare couple of hours. Don't go out of your way. Well acted, some good moments, mostly meh.
It's not amazing, but worth watching.
It's great stuff, very bareknuckle stuff. A podcast I listened to @a4epodcast.bsky.social did an episode on it and has good analysis on it. open.spotify.com/episode/5SzT...
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
Yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes.
Watched it last week. It’s alright.
Not convinced, as a drama it didn’t really work, too many loose ends left
Considering the subject matter it’s incredibly bland.
I felt it was a little unexciting.
I liked it
We watched it tonight, and found it quite gripping. I knew some of the background, but my partner was new to it all.
Kathleen Belew's Bring the War Home is absolutely terrific if you haven't read it and want to know more about The Order. (She's on here, too @kathleenbelew.bsky.social )
Thanks!
I had a toss up situation between The Order and Elevation on Sunday night, and picked Elevation. This was the wrong choice.
It is good, but also a bit seen-it-all-before.
I thought it was great. America always looks a lot more realistic through the lens of a foreign director - bleak realism with no heroes/copaganda to be found anywhere. One of Jude Law’s best performances too (I’ve never really been a fan of his though)
I will say I wasn’t particularly convinced by Nicholas Hoult though. And he was the reason my husband gave up halfway through and went to bed.
I liked it. I feel some watched it expecting more of an action film, which would explain some reviews saying it’s slow moving etc. I thought it was great.
Bit average. Law’s great though
Simon Brew recommended it just today: bsky.app/profile/simo...
