In my experience, using facial recognition technology to discriminate on specific parameters is never walked back, and can be used in other situations that the general population isn’t quite so keen on.

Good point. But to be fair that experience is not very long. We are only in the paddling pool of technology change. Most of us were alive before the internet was invented!
