If you’ve spent anytime around Star Wars IP the past 30 yrs, you know it’s a minefield. And it turns off decent creators/directors from playing in the sandbox if they will get hate mail for not shipping 2 established fan characters or getting glib shitto’s birthday right.

We’re lucky we got him in any capacity and better off that he ignored a lot of in universe material that would only drag down the story he wanted to tell. And he shouldn’t need to walk on eggshells when the questions around canon are brought up
