Just read On the Hippie Trail in one sitting. Could not put it down. It reminded me of my backpack trip through Europe in 1976. I wish I’d kept such a journal. I now feel like I’ve been to Kathmandu! Not only is it a great read, but the book itself is beautiful. I love the paper it’s printed on.
From June, 1969 to June, 1970, I lived in Norway, studying at the universities in Oslo and Bergen. I always regretted that I didn’t keep a journal during that amazing year. So what a gift to discover when my mom died in 2016, that she had kept all of my letters! Instant journal!

I highly recommend On the Hippie Trail (audio). I don't want it to end (it's only 4 hrs)! Seeing parts of the world that are no longer easily accessible through Rick's young eyes is a reading experience to treasure. Somehow, Rick has managed to capture his early-twenties self (thanks to journaling).
I would love to see you cover your home state in some way, the Pacific Northwest has always fascinated me.
