I like cake and am proficient at making them. Why would I or anyone for that matter eat trashy shit in the name of celebrating?

Because it’s put in front of their face it would be awkward to turn it down. My spouse is very quiet and she was unable to speak up because she is shy
I cant speak to you spouses social issues. But its pretty easy to decline a beer, an unhealthy snack or another whole whopping plateful you mother i law needs to see you eat to feel good about herself etc. You should be angrier at the social pressures ppl use to make others unhealthy.
You are just speaking for yourself. It’s not easy. Peer pressure does exist. And my spouse is shy. I am a pretty confident person, I still get pressured into consuming things that are not healthy. Nobody is ever encouraged by others to eat a salad. Misery loves company
Right and thats a "self harm" issue if it leading to obesity etc No different that an alcoholic accepting a beer. And people need to see it like that instead of pretending its just a cutesy whootsey body positive thing.
An alcoholic wouldn’t have booze brought in for their birthday. All the people my spouse works with talk about being on a diet. If I keep chocolate in my home I can’t sleep without eating it all before bed. I used to smoke and cigarettes had less of a hold on me.
You get to determine for everyone else that it's trashy shit?
The ultra prosessed one is. At least get one from a decent bakery that uses just the necessary ingredients and uses quality inventory to do it.
The ultra processed one is a beautiful cathedral of human knowledge and Ingenuity
Its also a pretty meaningless term considering pretty much everything we eat is processed.
Yeah, and everything is futile anyway cause we will all die and the sun will stop existing. Ultra-processed contains loads of unnecessary ingredients and usually far larger amounts of sugar and/or salt than a less-processed one. A bread should have 4 ingredients, not 12.
Again depends what those ingredients are. An ingredient on its own is not problematic.
A bread with 4 ingredients is more likely to have a fifth ingredient (i.e. mold) that isn't listed on the packaging.
Surprise, surprise, there is mold everywhere. The world is not a sterile place. Fresh bread will last you a few days or use a freezer and just take portions for the day. There is ALWAYS mold, it just grows to unsavoury levels over time. If mold cannot grow on your bread, that is a bad sign.
Unless you bake it yourself, the bread has to spend a lot of time being transported and stored before it gets to the customer, so would be moldy before you got it. Without preservatives, the entire supply chain for bread would collapse, and the price would be three times as high.
Sad as in, that is consumers paying the price in name ofcorporate efficiency whilst they could make different choices. It would take time offcourse but they could.
This is practical issue with American supply chains then. Also, super sad there is no actual baker around apparently. Here supermarkets get their breads in as dough and do the final baking in store. Fresh bread all day long! But being made to believe it is necessary cause supply chains is sad.
I try my best to find foods with one ingredient. But they are few and far between. Grocery stores are packed with garbage food
One ingredient foods are found in the produce section.
Lentils or fries are 80% of my diet
Yes. And its pretty simple. If it contains a bunch of low standard ingredients then the end product is low standard. Might be sweet and fatty alright, if thats all youre after.
