1) If you're not donating to public media and you have the means, please start. Do a monthly contribution if you can. They make it super easy. 2) If you're already donating to public media, increase your contribution if you can. We doubled our contributions.

I know democracy should be first.. but I also donate to land trusts, wildlife sanctuaries, environmental law groups, and wildlife protection groups. $$$$$ But, I did restart my DONATIONS to PBS .

3) If you live in an area with strong public media (NYC and New England will probably be fine), consider donating to a smaller rural public media organization. Even a one-time donation would help now. 4) If you can't afford a donation, see if you can volunteer.

5) At least continue to watch and listen as much as you can, the ratings will help. 6) Don't take public media for granted--talk about it with your friends and neighbors--the shows you watch/listen to, the stories that affect your life, how much it matters.
