Probably due to the high probability that the defendant would recognize the judge or prosecutor from the island. They don't want "hey! Remember when we tag teamed that 14 year old?" Read into the record.

I really don’t know. It’s hard to imagine that these files don’t have at least some names when there are over 100 victims. I guess I’m wondering that even if one person is identified in these files, and the judiciary and DOJ have had the name, why weren’t they prosecuted?

It would depend on when it was reported, which state (for purposes of the Statute of Limitations). So far, the only minors who reported (that I know of) was the one girl in Florida (and it was actually her stepmother who reported it). I read The Palm Beach police probabl cause affidavit.

Looked it up: A key element of the deal was a non-prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors, which included granting immunity to Epstein and "any potential co-conspirators", according to the Department of Justice. This agreement also stipulated that victims would not be informed of the deal.
