How are we as a people, even at this point?
Salmonella is nasty. It lasts for ten days. Typhoid fever can lead to septic shock.
Ick why??! Do we want more sick Americans
For so many reasons I’m glad I chose to be vegetarian & then vegan…but ffs this admin’s actions would appear that’s what they want, too🤭
Hahaha what the hell is wrong with these sociopaths
I think we can start with stupidity and work our way up.
This regime wants us sick & dying! Every move they make verifies that fact.
Random Brit here. Personally I'm just hoping all the stupid Americans die of diseases that have been preventable for 50-100 years and that will leave just the smart ones who will get rid of the orange man-child and all his moronic cronies.
I can get behind this, so long as it happens quickly.
Oh, we all this side of the pond want it to happen quickly (getting rid of the orange man-child that is, not necessarily lots of American's having to die however for it to happen).
And we appreciate the support!!!!
You know it doesn't work like that....but we could hope that the McDonald's that supply the White House and Mar a Lago get their fair share of infected meats....
This is not a photo of the warfighting wrestler doll assembly line.
It might be time to go vegan.
Raw produce isn't safe either. If you do, cook everything thoroughly, because you're not safe from e.coli.
Got e coli in Egypt many years ago. It was the worst Always wash fresh fruits & veggies.
Even washing them isn't a guarantee. It lessens the risk, it doesn't eliminate it entirely, and I wish more people understood that.
So, we either leave the country or stop eating! Right?
Third option is to get in the face of the government doing this to you and not let it slide. In the meantime, as I said, cook everything. Dahls, soup and stews ftw. Only time I eat salad anymore is the salad I grow myself.
There's a reason Gramma boiled the piss out of everything.
Republicans want Americans to die. No other explanation
Well, yes, they want Americans to die, but it's because they think the strong will survive and make a perfect arian race for their whatever number reich we're on now.
Sounds about right
Also, Putin benefits from chaos.
Putin is the #1 beneficiary of Trump's illegal actions & inconsistent policies. This chaos, anti-NATO & anti-democratic policies are a dream come true for him. Trump would be fine if the USA became a satellite state of Russia as long as he gets a generous cut & Putin destroys the "PeePee" tape.
They know their supporters eat canned food and shelf stable artificial stuff. BEWARE fresh food eaters!
Yeah, please don't import your shit food to Europe, Trumpella.
The photo is extra unappetizing too
I wish the was from the Onion. Having such a hard time believing I’m not living in a parody.
Make Vomiting Great Again
That decision to give up meat is looking better every day...
American vegetables will give you E. coli, and the Trump FDA won't care. Might as well look into breathatarianism... Oh wait, the EPA has been gutted too.
Today's blue light special is chicken with extra bacteria!
And USA wants to export that crap to the EU?
📌
Q: How often do you shake your head when you see news from the US? Me: Yes.
[Snortlaugh]
[another snort laugh]
Sick and Poor and Stupid. It's the Authoritarian Playbook.
Bird flu. Measles. Salmonella. Dengue. Listeria. Yeah. This is turning into one lethal Bingo card.
They're trying to kill us all! 😡🤢🆘 Meanwhile the billionaires, & millionaires can buy their boutique meat from the best organic farms!🆘 #Impeach #Trump #Congress #Greed #DOGE #Salmonella #USDA #Foodpoisoning #Billionaires #Corruption #Foodsafety #Inspect #Meat #Poultry #Protest #Resist #Musk #Fight
Fortunately, for them organic means jack shit (poor turn of phrase?) when it comes to salmonella.
They caved to industry pressure. It’s kind of wild how effective the poultry industry in particular has been at hamstringing food safety initiatives for decades while simultaneously bleating about how they’re over regulated.
And they wonder why we don't want to buy their meat in Europe 🤦♀️
I don't even want to buy their meat here.
They must be working on herd immunity
Big Chicken wants us sick if it will save them a dollar or two.
Maybe they are encouraging people to eat more vegetables?🥕
May the odds be forever in our favor...
📌
📌
Send all raw chicken to trump in the White House. He doesn't give a damn about protecting the food Americans consume.
And wants to be able to export it - no thanks!
Bringing back typhus. Typhus is already antibiotic resistant. Only one antibiotic is effective and it too is losing the battle.
Americans will die. Other countries will continue to boycott substandard agricultural products that will make them sick.
Confirmed: The United States of America is a sick country, metaphorically and literally.
The obvious response to this is to boycott the poultry industry.
"DeMoCrAtS aNd RePuBlIcAnS aRe ThE sAmE"
Well that should help encourage the EU to allow US chickens in.
Serve it at the White House first!!!!
Just great. Time to go vegetarian?
Uh?
Because chicken salmonella has extra protein, which is good for these low-testosterone teenagers. Try to keep up with the latest science.
ah, so they're breeding people for salmonella resistance
Look! Maybe there should be a relaxation on limits but to remove the restriction entirely??
Nothing says fun better than spending the evening on the shitter with salmonella poisoning.
Bring back “the dirty bird”!
This is where that coffin trademark comes in.
🐓 🪓 🐔🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶 🍗 🍲🥄 Make chickens great again
Maybe a tainted hamburg near you! See stores for details
Why?
Next trump act: corporations will be shielded from lawsuits of consumers or their families, who were poisoned by these chickens. Am I part of The Truman Show? Is this fucking real?
But of course....good call.
Replace covid with salmonella www.voanews.com/a/covid-19-p...
Give America Diarrhea Again
Who the hell are the lobbyists for Big Salmonella?
It’s not that they actively want to put salmonella in stuff, it’s that they want to cut corners so they can squeeze even more profit out of everyone, and they don’t care if that means people get food poisoning. Capitalism serves only capital.
I'm pretty sure you're correct. But... one of my kids worked for a now-defunct residential solar corporation. I'm pretty sure their sales guys would lobby on behalf of a toxic bacterium if the price was right. Especially the Florida branch.
Fair enough, but someone would have to pay them to do it first.
Publically traded hospitals.
I feel like somewhere, someone with a magic lamp hated Trump so much that he wished all manner of harm on all Trump's supporters. And so the genie gave us President Trump. And he was like, "no, that's not what I meant!" And the genie was all, "that's how wishes work. There's a moral here." 🤷
www.corporateeurope.org/en/2025/04/n...
Wow, so evil
Killing us all to own the libs.
Nothing screams "owning the Libs" like a good dose of salmonella.
I’m not sure Big Chicken is ready for this.
Yep. And a strong FU + I chose corps over people...
🏆
Hey, that's what they get for eating salmon. If they were good Americans, they'd eat good old hamburgers. #Snark
😂
Wait until the e-coli gets them. Moo.
The Vegan community will grow.
Well. You'll shit your pants thanks to E. coli then. 😅
Thanks a lot Pablo for your thoughtful contribution.
Vegans aren't going to be safe of the consequences of easing food safety regulations.
I agree.
Well if you were all vegan we wouldn't have the livestock industry spreading their e coli, salmonella, etc.
E coli is an intestinal bacteria. Plants don't produce E coli. Did u read that idiot article in the Daily Mail making the salads sound so dangerous???
No. I just remember the 2011 E. coli outbreak caused by contaminated fenugreek sprouts that killed 53 people.
¿
Well, that's definitely going to help open up the EU market for us.
...and the USA administration wonders why Canada isn't interested in importing diseased, hormone filled poultry from the USA. What could possibly go wrong?
Hormones & steroids in poultry have been banned since the 1950s. Don't clap back unless you have something intelligent to report - signed A Public Health Scientist.
We also don't inject our poultry with saline.
Based on quality and safety alone, Canada and Denmark ranked first and second, respectively. We prefer to pay more for a safe, highly regulated food supply.
I guess diseased is o.k. then? Without thorough oversight, there will be issues. I have experienced the results of a US dairy product contamination during a government (and FDA) shutdown in 2011. No recall occured, even though many people were sickened, and some experienced organ failure.
💯April 10 ”Butter recalled in the US after possible contamination with fecal bacteria.” April 17 “US FDA suspends food safety quality checks after staff cuts” April 22 “US FDA suspends milk quality tests amid workforce cuts” April 24 “Ag Department will not require 🐓 companies to limit salmonella”
Consumers will have their say, buying better quality, ethically produced products. Those that don't or can't will be putting their health at risk
Where? The USDA regulations regarding poultry and salmonella bacteria levels were national in scope. Sadly, this isn’t getting as much attention as it needs.

Yum!
....as a chicken lover from across the seas...this hurts my soul for those about to be denied the taste of good food Hang in there...all of you D:
Big Salmonella finally catching a break
The US clearly have gone to shit.
And they question why other countries refuse to buy US meat? Huh.
There is no way that shit should ever be allowed into the food supply of the United Kingdom.
Or even the US....I don't hate them that much....
Agree, but when you put in power people who only care about their personal financial gain rather than being responsible for the product they produce and how they deliver it to the customer no matter what it is then you end up with unsafe food, unsafe everything
Should be allowed nowhere except Russia and their allies
Desde Europa nos preguntamos porqué no compramos carne a USA, que gracioso Trump.
Oh, lort. WHY would anyone do this? How repulsive.
They want us dead. Keep saying it.
It’s a confusing strategy, with everyone dead who will clean their pools?
Gotta cull those numbers, so there's more resources left for those with the most money.
Why?
WHY? THIS IS JUST STUPIDITY TO RISK OUR LIVES OVER CONTAMUNATED FOOD!!
Conservatives only stand for making people suffer, that's it
"Hi, I'm Sal, Sal Monella." 🙄😂
They don’t care if they kill people. They let it happen during COVID19.
Trump policies - you better fend for yourself from now on.
Because of course. Donor money speaks louder than protecting public health!
Um, yay?🤮
All I can say is wash your chicken with bleach and then burn it to a crisp.
Why is this regime doing everything it can to endanger people's lives and ultimately be harmful in every way? Cruelty is indeed their point, and they are proving to excel in doing everything possible to ruin people's health and lives.
You asked for it so don't crack the shits.
Why?!
At some point, surely people realise that the only safe way to go is #vegan
They are all in denial. That's why they are so mad angry about it. They know. They already know. Everybody knows! All we need to do is show mercy, forgiveness, and serve the best vegan cookies and hearty meals.
Many fruits and vegetables carry salmonella. Leafy greens are loaded with e coli. Your vegan hobby horse is not a solution here
You need to think about where those bacteria (salmonella and e-coli) originate and why they would end up in farmed vegetables.
I am well aware of where they originate and unless you plan to grow vegan food in hermetically sealed hydroponic environments it will be an issue.
💯
Let me guess, this one will be reversed in a hot second too, right? I've had salmonella poisoning. I never felt so sick in my life. I was in bed for a week and when I was finally over it I felt weak as a kitten for 3 days. It is fucking BRUTAL and I was a healthy person in her 40s.
A lady I worked with had it, she was sick for weeks and then wasn't allowed to even make some else a cup of tea for months.
I've had it, too, in my 20's. And was still laid up for a week. It was horrible. Salmonella can be deadly, especially in young children.
Question if you don't mind...how does it get diagnosed as salmonella poisoning? I've gotten sick from eating certain things before, and gotten sick in general such that I went to the emergency room. Even then, no one really checked to see what I had. What prompts them to test?
@n0v0w3ls.bsky.social The doctor takes a stool sample; the county health dept is notified if test results are positive. Because this is a public health issue, the county health department called me to try to trace the source. They asked if I had been on a farm recently or eaten in a restaurant, etc.
bloody diarrhea. dark urine. yellow skin.
Sam and Ella? Who are they?
"In the United States, the CDC estimates that 1.35 million salmonella infections occur annually. This leads to approximately 26,500 hospitalizations and 420 deaths each year." Food borne illnesses quadrupled in just 15 years...big jump last time Trump was president too. www.cdc.gov/food-safety/...
What is their reasoning, other than "fuck you guys"?
It costs money to maintain higher food safety standards. Removing food safety standards and inspections makes selling food products more profitable. Every FDA mandated recall is a financial loss. Every dollar spent reducing salmonella contamination is a dollar not going to shareholder value.
Their logic is so good that mass kill their costumes seens a better option than prevent it...
If you kill your customers, you don't profit long...
It's shifting the cost of contamination onto the consumer. In terms of hospital and funeral costs, it's going to be much more expensive. But not for the CEO.
But just think of the healthcare profits! /s
They pass those costs along to us, the consumer.
Not if ppl don’t buy it. I’m not risking getting sick to eat food.
You really think they’re even going to make the company’s name public when they make people sick? They didn’t with the recent lettuce debacle
I hear ya, I do. Folks were warning for 6months now to get prepared, I’m aware that not everyone can grow.
Corporate fascism.
this is so fucking stupid
we are not at war thankfully with another country so how is this Alien Enemy ACt still a thing-every person deported without due process should all be returned for their day in court-Our constitution must be upheld! but this alien act should not be allowed to be their excuse/reason
Why eat chicken when there’s so much long pig round?
Trouble is, you can catch a lot more diseases from that..
Not if you raise your own. :-)
Better hurry up and buy that Bidet before you get a case of the MAGA Squirts.
We bought one during the Republican Toilet Paper Apocalypse. Great thing to have.
Oh, but please get pregnant! We’ll pay you $5k [whites only] 🥲
“The plan aimed to reduce an estimated 125,000 salmonella infections from chicken and 43,000 from turkey each year, according to USDA. Overall, salmonella causes 1.35 million infections a year, most through food, and about 420 deaths, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention”
Who voted for this?
I guess chicken is off the grocery list.
And Trump wonders why we don’t want American meat, produce and processed foods. Buying 🇨🇦 isn’t just about economics; it’s about safety, too.
I guess it’s time to give chicken.
We are so screwed. Don’t worry, all these cuts only affect those who eat food here in the US.
I ask this seriously: what is wrong with you people? I mean, you’re all going to die. Are you ok with that?
Absolutely maddening, isn't it.!🤬🤬🤬
It's a long story.
I think a lot of people, especially MAGA, truly believe there’s nothing wrong - because they are being lied to and cannot discern that fact - and think that Trump will take care of them. MAGA IS A CULT.
Hey, I didn't want this. I don't know anyone who does. But there's not a whole lot we can do right now. We're protesting and suing, but the Republicans are the only ones with actual power to stop this, and they refuse.
who wants this?
Corpos that don't want to spend money on making sure food is at safe levels and people who are convinced that they can just buy from companies that clean it because free market. Sure you have to find out the companies made thousands of people sick first but... free market!
Obviously there are reasonable arguments both for and against salmonella
There are good microorganisms on both sides. Salmonella, stand back and stand by.
👀 👀 OMG- between the Agri. Dept, FDA, HHS, CDC- this maniac gov is trying to kill Americans!
And will...
Make America shit blood again
Trump likes dead Americans.
Make America Gastroenteritis Again
Might wanna just broaden to "germy", since it's not limited to stomach bugs AND since I thought the felon was a germophobe. So maybe it'd scare him to realize that's what's afoot. I honestly don't think he spends much time thinking out the consequences of his policies and picks. He might not know.
He probably thinks McDonald's food is so heavily processed that no germs could survive. He would be wrong, but he probably thinks it.
I hear ya. Though maybe he also thinks "I've eaten at McD's before, so I know it's safe." or "I had someone taste it first, and they didn't die." Yeah I know what you're likely to say about these masterpieces of medical logic, but if you think them unlikely, my trump card will be "injected bleach".
It's not the germs he should be worried about, it's what all the people who work there and detest him might add to his burgers.
Ah, but he has said he gets food at McDonald's because they make it up in advance without knowing who will get it, so he can't be poisoned. Again, he would be wrong about that.
LOL it only takes a few seconds to add some special sauce to his burgers!
Or it might be the meat or lettuce or tomato is infected one day and not another. But his reasoning is so irresponsibly simplistic...
Another reason to never buy American products
Beware when buying poultry🍗. We’re losing decades of common sense health protections. 🛟 I needed the ER when I had Salmonella. 🤒🤢
The British definitely will DEFINITELY want to buy more American chicken now.
😳
Vegetarianism: Now More Than Ever ™️ (Of course we'll all need to start planting our own survival gardens due to the Trumpcession)
Does the Trump Administration hate the American people that much?
Trump is pro-salmonella.
Once again — glad I’m a vegan!
Yeah, they’re fucking over all the food. www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...
Without looking at the url it's easy to mistake this for an Onion headline.
And they wonder why we don't import meat from the US.
🎯
China just cancelled an order of pork, like not 5 pounds of pork but millions of pounds. Someone said because of tarrifs, makes you wonder. Maybe they don't trust it.
Costco is gonna kill so many folks
I have Bennett fucking been happier too be a vegetarian in my life. Going full vegan is looking really good right now. It is a great time to kick my cheese habit.
Lots of veggie-borne outbreaks.
True, but i can wash my vegetables.
I have bad news about how veggie contamination happens
I know all about it, Todd.
👍
Sorry, I'm super tired and probably cranky.
It's fine. I just spend a lot of time thinking about contaminated irrigation water.
So gross.
Unfortunately they’re also going to stop testing the vegetables for E. coli so we’re all boned
Time to work out a decent home test kit.
It very much sucks, that's for sure.
*never (Bennett??? Wtf) **to be (no really. Stop fucking "helping" me, autocorrect.)
Huzzah for capitalism!
Gonna need a whole lot of Upton Sinclairs to chronicle the mass death on the rise caused by having Mssr. 🧠 🪱 🪱 w porphyria heading up your health system. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jun... The US of Forced Birth already had 1 million Muricans killed by Cheeto Mussolini & the incompetence of Birx.
Time to start buying local. That's my plan. Farms, local butchers, farmers markets, and grow my own.
Gross chicken for the win???

Boars head
Trump and RFK Jr want us to get sick and die.
Maybe it'll get reinstated when the top 1% get food poisoning a few times??
"Why don't other countries want to buy our food products...?"
Hi there food companies looking to cut corners on food safety to boost your profits! Just a fair warning: if your product causes a salmonella outbreak from lax food safety, we will never buy it again. Your profits will go to zero forever.
This is true, but irrelevant. We don't need everybody. We just need a bunch of people to make it hurt by boycotting their dangerous products. Should I buy listeria-ridden Boar's Head, or a different brand that places food safety ahead of profits? Not a hard choice.
Yes indeed.
But if you die...
Except people never do. Blue Bell ice cream and nearly every fast food company are directly responsible for multiple deaths. They are all thriving.
I haven’t purchased Boar’s Head meats or cheeses since the listeria outbreak.
Stopped buying lunches at my local Jewel when they switched from Sara Lee, Echrich, & Dietz & Watson a few years ago to Boar’s Head. Tried it once, tasted off. Moved 2 yrs ago. Choice of 2 grocery stores. Go to the one that sells Dietz & Watson plus a few other brands.
Boars Head is still rather popular too.
I would assume Boar's Head have cleaned up their act because if they have a repeat people will absolutely take note. Once is 'a breakdown of an otherwise good system' (though it should never happen), but twice is 'they don't care if their customers live or die.' That has consequences.
I’m old enough to remember McConnell’s push to give corporations blanket immunity re: Covid. There’s no doubt Republicans will push for legislation to help corporations avoid accountability. Some businesses even think it’s cheaper to settle lawsuits vs regulation adherence. Case study: 👉🏽 Ford Pinto.
The hormones, the pesticides and now the bacteria. It's as if other countries care about the quality of the food their citizens eat. Weird.
Exactly. The game is to isolate the U.S. in every way possible. See: coercive control.
Ummm. Yur gov is actively trying to poison you now.
They’ve always done that
that’s normal for them unfortunately
Food safety is woke. Never thought of it that way, to be honest
This is so dangerous! We need a class action suit against DT for this. @aclu.org
No, no you’re forgetting that this is the party of Christian values!! You remember that old Christian value of “thou shall not make corporations provide safe products”? Or “Thou shall eat the tainted food to protect profits!” Christian values people! Get with the program! /s
And then when half the population dies, do they blame themselves for allowing this to happen in the first place and take responsibility for it? Psssh no! This was all obviously and very clearly "God's plan".
Poisonous Mass Murderer and mass disabler #RFKJr Make Americans Dead & Disabled Again
Poisonous RFKJr The withdrawal “sends the clear message that the Make America Healthy Again initiative does not care about the thousands of people who get sick from preventable foodborne salmonella infections linked to poultry,” Eskin said in a statement. www.seattletimes.com/business/usd...
Does Salmonella cure autism? We'll find out in six months.
....stone dead! One person at a time....
Buy a meat thermometer if you don't have one and cook your meat to 165 degrees. Take care of yourself when others won't.
No rare steak for you then matey....
So the FDA fires the milk, inspectors to make bird flu great again, And E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria, too And now the corrupt Satanic Trump corporate bootlickers want to make salmonella in chickens great again Good luck trying to export American food. Now your food is poisonous and unsafe.
Leave the Satanic out of this. The Devil doesn't want food poisoning either.
At this point, I can't recall what we're trying to force the world to buy from us. What does the US sell these days? I mean, that doesn't explode or poison?
Now Russian traitor Donald Trump sending a signal to the world American food is diseased and poisonous, and the Republican government won’t look for the disease or poison in the food supply because corruption to big agriculture matters more than American or foreign lies or health
Donald Trump, the Russian traitor to America, the traitor to western civilization, the traitor to democracy is systematically destroying America for his owner Putin. He’s already killed off the weapons export market by betraying Ukraine during a war.
I’d like to hope that any company caught fucking off on testing will suffer long term boycotts and it wouldn’t be worth it
Finally! The freedom to die from food poisoning.
Liberation Day!
Listeria Day!

Wut
Guess I won't be eating chicken
This looks like a Congress of chicken carcasses.
Genuinely curious: do these people not eat chicken, or is there a secret shop for rich people where you can buy chicken without salmonella?
They’re all reading from the same nonsense page that says salmonella is an unavoidable part of poultry processing while ignoring the fact that we’re behind the curve on this front and pretending that catching up would be infeasible anyways.
Yes. its called they can afford to buy meat from third party vendors that do the food safety steps for an inflated price
This, and also some of these folks genuinely believe that "regulations bad, The Market will keep companies in line" It's the same self-regulating BS that has never been true but because it's simple and repeated sticks around.
They don’t care. This is Nikita Khrushchev’s plan all along.
The largest contributor to his “inauguration” was Pilgrim’s Pride, at $5 million — the nations largest poultry producer . www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/...
Bingo. I've never bought their chicken but I sure as fuck consider all their products tainted now.
We have Pilgrim’s Pride chicken farms all over North Carolina. Farmers recycle the chicken poop and spray it on crops. It’s air most fowl.
But what could the connection be? I'm stumped!
Their brands www.pilgrims.com/brands/
Note to self: assume Pilgrim's Pride chicken is not safe to eat.
At this point, assume any chicken you didn't get from your local (and very well known) neighborhood farmer is not safe to eat. Same goes for milk. Same goes for beef. Same goes for pork. Same goes for eggs. Same goes for veggies. Same goes for pretty much anything you intend to put inside your body
Just cause you know them well doesn’t mean their chicken is free of salmonella. Are they testing it?
I trust my neighborhood farmer more than I trust big-box (now non-regulated) chain groceries.
There's apparently a response to my comment that I'm unable to see... 🤔
I've been buying my local chicken farm's chicken and eggs for 46 years. They're free range and organic.
That's great, Lola! so few people have access to that, but how nice for you!
Not Just Bare 😭
RIght?!? Seems like they’re pushing that as an organic brand.
Yes it’s marketed as very “green”. Costco has a great dupe for their frozen nuggets but they have frozen spicy chicken strips that are fantastic and I eat way too often when I can’t think of what to make for myself.
😳
Bo Pilgrim was once famous for writing $10,000 personal checks on the floor of the Texas Senate to defeat a worker's compensation reform bill. This tracks.
If they are that corrupt, no wonder they love supporting this administration. 😡
Whaaaa?!?
Don't buy their chicken
Pilgrim's has a factory where my husband grew up. After hearing about and seeing the conditions of the workers and the poultry, his parents went vegetarian for the rest of their lives. Poultry is one of the few meats I eat, but I guess I'll be phasing it out, too risky.
Just driving by the chicken factories (what we called the long rows where they raised them) in the Ozarks when I was a kid was almost enough to put me over the edge, too. Those were practically mom and pop operations compared to now.
do these people ship chicken to any restaurants? need to know where I'm not eating anymore.
Well let’s be routing all such contaminated poultry to the White-washed House.
📌
Time to boycott #PilgrimsPride! I grew up in the era of gray vegetables & burnt pork chops because…my mom didn’t want us to get sick!
Bribes.
Yecch. Wonder why they don't want our chlorinated chicken in the EU.

Say goodbye to American Meat export.
Hell yeah. And time to remind people of proper kitchen hygiene when dealing with raw meat.
America may have troubling making iPhones, but I’m confident we can do bacteria.
At long last our national nightmare is over
That is one of the few bars in the world that I will not drink in.
“Our meat is beautiful!!!”
They don’t care that the elderly and the weak might die from it. That is actually the plan. Like they didn’t care during Covid. It’s part of the eugenics movement. No weakness in the ranks.
That's crazy!
omg
Bye, bye Chick-fil-A, KFC and Popeye's - off my menu now.
Why is our government trying so hard to kill us? 😕
MAHA!
Yeah, 'cause only Democrats get food poisoning. A White House salmonella outbreak at a reception for Macron would be so just!
"The rule would have required poultry companies to keep levels of salmonella bacteria under a certain threshold and test for the presence of six strains most associated with illness, including three found in turkey and three in chicken."
"If the levels exceeded the standard or any of those strains were found, the poultry couldn’t be sold and would be subject to recall... The plan aimed to reduce an estimated 125,000 salmonella infections from chicken and 43,000 from turkey each year, according to USDA."
"Overall, salmonella causes 1.35 million infections a year, most through food, and about 420 deaths, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."
"The proposed rule had been regarded as a food safety victory similar to a 1994 decision to ban certain strains of dangerous E. coli bacteria from ground beef after deadly outbreaks."
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🤢🤢🤢😭😭😭
Other countries were already not buying US chicken bc of the bleach washing
We already didn't want to buy your chicken.
Eat a bag of dicks, poultry industry. Buh bye.
Do billionaires not eat chicken? Do they have private slaughtering facilities? I truly don’t get it.
They can easily afford to eat imported chicken, or organic free range chicken which tends to be less prone to disease since it's not confined right next to tons of other possibly sick chickens
They can afford to source the good stuff.
They have peasants to raise chickens for them.
Sure but how do they independently monitor against salmonella and other food safety issues is my point.
Salmonella is dangerous 1) if meat is undercooked, and 2) if there is cross-contamination in the kitchen. Probably more cases of Salmonella are due to the latter, since poultry is typically to a temp well above what is necessary to kill the bacteria. So, they have chefs they think they can trust.
They have boutique, bespoke providers of food. A billionaire can also afford to do their own food safety testing.
The logistics of an entire food supply for one person seems beyond even what a billionaire can do but could be.
I wonder if a good bacteria infection will make the meat more tender? 😄
What could go wrong?
@murray.senate.gov @cantwell.senate.gov
And then people cry foul when the EU doesn't want their products that don't meet regulations in the slightest.
Playing chicken with the health of Americans... not a great look.
Or bird flu.
FFS 🤬
I hope American producers realize no other countries are ever going to buy ANY food produced by America. Trump is killing every industry in America.
Except oligarchy
Generally producers have to meet the regulations of the countries where they sell, in addition to where they manufacture. Which may be the only thing keeping American food edible, at this rate.
I would not trust Americans to not cheat. 40% of Americans have proven they will do anything to make money including poisoning others, harming others. Other countries would have to conduct extensive tests to ensure safety. Why do that when we can buy from countries that have regulations?
Oh, absolutely. While the infrastructure is in place to do all that testing already, it’s rapidly approaching the point of being too extensive to bother. I think it will take a while to untangle our integrated food systems but tariffs and deregulation are definitely speeding that up.
He most certainly is. Out of spite. Anything Biden or Obama did, he is tearing down. He’s a spite filled weasel.
He's a hate-fueled, I won't say weasel because it insults weasels, personality. Can't stand for anyone anywhere to be happy, and knowing all men are mortal, determined to take as many with, or preferably beforr, him, as possible. How's that for a theory? He's also a long-term Russian asset. :-/
The sugar cane idea came from a neighbour of trump who has a sugar cane plantation. So, I'm wondering if trump has another neighbour who has salmonella plantation
Very republican of them.
man fuck it maybe i will just go vegetarian
Veggies kill too.
Yeah, just don't eat anything raw unless you grow it yourself.
Unfortunately, this Administration is doing much the same on that side. www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...
Insane. Good luck trying to export American meat products...
They're trying to force other countries to buy their diseased meats in trade extortion demands.
Unlimited Salmonella, just what it takes to make America great
Hey, man. If trumpers die from salmonella-soaked chicken, who are we to stop fate. 🤷♀️
This will be especially great for all those babies these Repugnican dipshits are forcing women to give birth to.
This is just insanity!
It really sounds like a biological war.
And a civil war at that
Not buying chicken or meat again!!
More like “The FDA took away your god-given right to get salmonella!”
So many places one could go with this one: James Woods in the same episode, Apu's later immigration troubles...
How about the fact that we can't even watch a fictional character give another fictional character salmonella on any streaming service anymore, because apparently that's more offensive than the real thing?
I dunno man, seems to me like if "harmful stereotypes" are the problem, a branch of the US gov't becoming more and more untrustworthy over time would be Exhibit Fuckin' A!
Did you know that there can be multiple problems, and those problems can have different magnitudes of severity and affect different things? Hope this helps!
Oh, shut up, doofus.
Over 20 years ago I stopped buying American produce and meats due to concerns about health safety. I never hesitate to buy from Mexico.
Great way to make America Vegetarian!!
E. coli would like a word.
"Well, sorry about that, but we're just gonna have to lower the pesticide standards." Quote from some Trump official, probably, eventually
Meanwhile Republicans are pushing to make DDT great again.
Seriously? Who? Where?
Not eating animal products is not an escape from what Trump and those with him are doing. Outbreak of e. coli carried by lettuce late last year; for which the current administration has not released reports, apparently in part because of illegally laying off people. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
Correct
“Unlimited salmonella. Its gold, Jerry. Gold!” Well, thats an idea I did not ever think the government would come up with.
Here we go America!
Can you imagine the deadly consequences of this decision. People are at higher risk for their health. Especially young, older people. Also with Immune deficient systems. All. Outrageous! Another reason to eat fresh live foods! Americans take care. www.nationalgeographic.com/science/arti...
Just as COVID deaths were written off with the eugenics-adjacent "they had pre-existing conditions" so too will salmonella deaths be hand-waved away by the openly eugenics-supporting RFK Jr's belief that "healthy people don't get sick." He'll blame people's choices or their inadequate genetics
I believe you are absolutely correct. I can see also ramifications for many families who will suffer, illness, loss and develop mental health problems in the near future. People have to be very vigilant and be careful with what they consume. Composed meats can be lethal. Take care.
Wonderful. I did NOT vote for this. Wash and cook those chickens well!
That is disgusting.
I’m not sure how many times I can say “oh fuck me” in a day, but this definitely hits the requirement.
So they’re bringing back salmonella, measles, and coal. Great. All we had to give up was full employment, government services, and the trust of all of our allies.
Also asbestos
Oh that's not nearly all! They the fired the entire lab of 400 ppl who test water to ensure that Dow et al aren't poisoning or water. Remember the burning Cuyahoga in 1969?
And by any means, keep those lead pipes!
Oh, and due process! We had to give up due process.
And civil rights.
So easy to forget due process!
What process?
Due process protects your rights to a fair trial. The abductions and deportations by ICE are breaking due process rights by depriving their victims of a trail before deporting them.
DOJ ran out of process during the many, many Trump indictments, so there is no more process left!
But we still have Roe overturned! I suppose they think the tradeoff is worthwhile.
To prevent salmonella, thoroughly boil HHS leaders.
Make Salmonella Great Again!
Trump: The Salmonella Fella First Trump killed milk protections. Now chicken is free from inspections. Salmonella killed hundreds last year. Suddenly it’s McNuggets we should fear.
And child labour
Don't forget the wonderful world of asbestos too
Don't forget the rollback on child labor and a more robust slave pool (prison).
Gonna have to go vegetarian. My dr has me on a strict no-salmonella diet.
U guys ok over there?
Thanks for asking. No.
You know we ain't
Absolutely not.
NOOOOOOOOOO
Nope.
