Luckily black bears are more like big raccoons than anything. They mostly just want your trash or any fruit or berries on your property. You just make noise, and they saunter off.

There is a risk that they’ll get trained to associate humans with finding food. This is mostly a risk to the bear which will be put down if it starts showing signs of food habituation 😣 Relatedly: I need to invest in a better solution for my bins 😬
