Is the bottle of water even connected or are the tubes just going down to the mystery device at the bottom?

My first thought was also mist machine, but it wasn't even working, and the size of the bottle makes me think it wouldn't last an hour... but it's still the most logical explanation 😅

And yeah, looking at it now, I don't understand the tubes... why 2... where is the blue one going... what does the bottom box does with the tubes

I'm not sure this makes sense either, but what if it's not blowing, but sucking? Maybe it's some kind of sampler, the tubes suck in air that passes through the fan, and whatever substance they want to analyze gets deposited in the water or solution?

Or it bubbles air through the water before sucking it into the sampling device at the bottom for some reason? The thing at the bottom looks kind of like lab equipment and the red tube looks like it's stuck into the water
