I thought it was just me Viv! I feel better about it now I’ve read your post
I find it nearly impossible to read paragraphs or even long sentences atm I'm sure it will come back - no point in beating ourselves up eh?
It is what it is. I’m reading a Beatles nonfiction book Short chapters and I’m interested in the subject So far so good
I feel better too. I've had health problems for years and I've gone from always having a book on the go since I can remember to barely having read a book in the last 20 years. I wish I could but I can't. It's like a mental block.
It’s ok Ita. We’re all different but it’s disappointing when you can’t do what you once did. When I was working we had a sort of informal book club and I think I miss talking about the book I’m reading with someone who’s read it or is reading it Retirement has its ups and downs I suppose!
Thanks, Annie. Time and circumstances change us all.
Exactly
I'd like to discuss books too but I'm not sure I'd want to read most of the books chosen by book clubs & I'm not sure how I'd fit in.
I know what you mean. This was in the staff room at school back in the days when you got half an hour for lunch It wasn’t a group of people who hardly knew each other and were trying to show how clever they were It was quite a good laugh and stopped the eduspeak for a while
this is my problem too and with most clubs of any kind tbh
