It's a con job. He says appalling things with big words so that he can turn around and accuse people who call him out for misunderstanding his meaning. His comments on "enforced monogamy" preventing maniacs like Minassian from murdering strangers - and subsequent tantrum - are a perfect example.

His followers use the same tactics. “You took his words out of context! You need to watch these 128 videos first to fully understand what he is saying.” Awfulness multiplied by 128 is still awful.

Ugh yes I have interacted with such people. "If you disagree you just don't understand, and if you want to understand you must watch 10 hours of talking heads on YouTube."

Exactly! They’re the same ppl who endlessly demand that you “prove” your point by bringing them scientific studies, as if they’re a king in a fairy tale. They’ll reject them & ask for more. It’s a stalling tactic. They can’t win an honest debate, so they delay by assigning their opponent homework.

Yeah Peterson shifted the burden of proof in this debate. He positively claimed that every single person on earth who doesn't worship something is agitated and confused but then demanded the other guy prove it isn't true.
