And production could have said no, the editors could have said we aren't gonna include that, however you cut it to do that with cameras was sick

Do *you* know how reality tv works? Raw emotions/drama/spectacle are the reasons we watch reality tv.. even if it’s cringe… why do you think they showed us David standing up when Mary went home? That was unbearable to watch but I couldn’t look away.. for Joe they are adding layers to his storyline.
Him big strong man👹!… But also vulnerable with a lot of complicated feelings 🥺
and that's my point, to use his sister's violent murder to add "layers" to his storyline by him walking down to the beach to do some over the top pledge to her was disgusting. if you can't see how awful that is i can't help you
It’s part of his story too🤨 it’s his sister it’s a loss he experienced that deeply affected him.. and it’s a taboo issue that a lot of people in relationships experience but don’t to want talk about, or even feel like they can talk about it for fear of retaliation.
My aunt died from an od when I was 15 and it still has a lasting effect on me to this day! Some deaths can completely alter your life path so saying they shouldn’t show it only denies us the opportunity to understand him, how he ended up on survivor and his motive to play..
"denies us"
I said what I said. We watch these types of shows to see why these people are playing what the stakes are for them to determine whether or not they deserve to win. Obviously they kept it in for a reason.
and that's my point 🙄 using this trauma for a reality tv show so the audience can gain some sort of benefit from it is disgusting
That’s one of the basic reasons that people make tv shows…
trauma is not entertainment
That’s… why we watch tv🫠
sick and twisted people maybe but not me
Then...don't watch reality tv if you're not interested in hearing all different backstories. Not all people come into it with a sunshine and rainbows background, and if they do- good on them but I'm more drawn to someone who's gone through something awful because adversity builds character more.
and I'll watch what i want to watch and I'll have opinions on the ethics of what I'm watching whether you approve or not.
my point still remains. filming a theatrical scene exploiting his sister's violent murder for entertainment is disgusting
What does a fan gain from Joe's backstory other than knowledge of what motivates Joe?
Did we need the beach theatrics to know that he was doing it for his sister's memory?
Yes it's what informs the viewer about the driving force behind why Joe is playing. It's like you missed the whole point. He said he wanted to apply with her before her death, and she was a bigger fan so he's honoring her life by playing for her.
so he can say that but he doesn't need to go down the beach and engage in some type of Hollywood theatrics crying to the sky to get that across.... its disgusting
Question: Did you find Tina in season 12 sitting on the beach, drawing a turtle, talking about her Son Charlie who died in a car accident offensive or disgusting? Or Danny in 41 winning immunity and kneeling for his late father? All are paying homage to their lost relatives, nothing gross ab it.
were they murdered by their partners?
No, but that doesn't matter. The matter is you complaining about someone sharing their backstory that is their main driving motivation for playing the game. It's up to the players to share intricate details about such things but we're not to judge these things.
