I might be an Episcopalian now, but you can tell I was raised catholic when my immediate reaction to the new pope being an Augustinian was “not as good as a Franciscan, but I’ll take it as a good sign”

you can tell I was raised in a quarter assed spiritual household because I'm barely aware of my own religion, but I'm even more clueless as to the difference between all these christian sects. There's 3 main types of Judaism ... orthodox, conservative, reform. Went to a conservative one for .. 1/2

Hebrew School and the strictness of it combined with my parents lack of real care whether I cared or not, led me to basically denounce religion and become the Hebrew School comedian by the time I was 10. If I had gone to the reform temple with Rabbi G of the God Squad ... maybe i woulda liked it

I think so! I have to double check with my mom if that was her dad or her uncle! The other brother went to Harvard, so you can imagine the insufferability (although they were also both mean drunks, which was a whole other thing…)

He did go to BC High, but I’m honestly not sure about law. Because of circumstances beyond my control, things went sideways when I was a teen, and I simply can’t remember lol. I’m sorry.

My dad was part of the left-ish push in the church in the late 60s (part of Charles Curran’s crew at Catholic U who all got accused of heresy!), so I was born one! I was even named after John the 23rd 😂 So even though I’m now Episcopalian, I’m also soooo culturally Catholic
