Its a huge deal. Texas Aggie here. I know my school has always been "conservative" - but there is nothing conservative about what the Republican party has become. And I finally got to be proud of someone from my school again. We are a school that is supposed to value integrity. We need to be again.

My brother and I, Corps of Cadets, served as Military Pilots (Navy and USMC). A&M claims to be proud of guys like us, but we're Dems so we're outcasts. We're disgusted with MAGA A&M attacking our Citizenship and our Military Service. Loyalty is a 2 way street with us. A&M is dead to us now.

Texas A&M is a stupid goddamn MAGA Cult. I was awarded a 4 year NROTC Scholarship and the Navy sent me there. ALL the America people paid for my education, especially those Blue State Libs that A&M hates so much. I'm greatful to America. I don't owe Texas A&M Jack Shit.

I lived in the same Corps Dorm for 3 years with that MAGA Nutcase Louie Gohmert. Knew him pretty well. He seemed somewhat normal (he was '75, I was '76). but once he got into politics, JFC! Everytime I saw his ugly face on TV, I wanted to throw my beer bottle at him.

My best friend from the Corps. We went through it all together. Navy Jet Training, Carrier Pilots. We were Squadronmates as Jet Instructors in Beeville, Tex. We went to the Airlines. He was a normal guy. Voted for Jimmy Carter. Then. He starts watching FOX and Rush Limbaugh. I lost him.

Texas Tribune had an article that the A&M Board of Regents gave Abbott &7.5 Million in Political Donations. Univ of Texas (Abbott's Alma Mater) only gave Abbott $5 million. The A&M Board of Regents are nothing but a pack of Big Oil MAGA Whores. I'm disgusted I believed A&Ms bullshit that long.

Most of my anger stems from how shitty I was treated in the Corps. I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. All they wanted me to do was Hate Hate Hate. Hate the Libs, Hate the Non-Regs, Hate the teasips, Hate the female Cadets. I just couldn't be the asshole they wanted me to be.

I remember that. It was not as bad 1997-2001 - (i don't think) progress had been made in comparison. I do recall the previous generation thinking we were soft, just as we thought the generations to follow us were softer lol - I wonder how much it has regressed.

It made me feel a little better. But I have never seen a place degrade itself so willingly and publicly in front of Trump and Abbott (just for $$$$) like A&M has. Money can buy you a lot of things. Maybe even a better football team. But money cannot buy you Honor. A&M has sadly forgotten that.
