There's a Japanese garden in Trawmore named after him. www.lafcadiohearngardens.com But he is in no way recognised or known here to the level he is in Japan.

Indeed I am!☘️ I hope more people in Ireland discover him, as he's probably the 3rd or 4th best-known Irish writer globally. Then maybe the plaque outside his old house will be restored😅

I know a filmmaker who tried to get funding for a documentary on him years ago and RTE said "wouldn't be of any interest to the Irish public". (RTE being the graveyard of Irish talent, as another rawther famous filmmaker once remarked to me.)
