DCAU was generationally special it just is what it is we’ll never eat like that again. I don’t even hold other versions of the universe against it. But a lot of cartoons overall are better for it having existed and that’s what’s important.

Yeah. And I like parts of the MCU! I'm optimistic about Gunn's tenure! But as you say, the DCAU is just lightning in a bottle.
They were not fucking around with that Justice League animated show. John Stewart Green Lantern was my introduction to the Lantern Corps extended roster, even before Guy Gardener. Need Stewart to come back in the movies. I'm cool on Hal and Guy.
There's just a certain kind of subtlety that's been sanded off mass media because audiences engage with stories differently and creators are hesitant to do anything that might go unacknowledged
It's easy, just make an era defining cartoon show with iconic lead voice actors and barely skip a beat on every follow up in that universe.
the dc animated movies are still strong as hell tho. we might never see the conclusion to crisis2e animated, but it is still just so amazing to watch over and over
I really want to see the newest interpretation of the Project Cadmus argument. JLU did an excellent job.
DCAU set inflated expectations for me of how good comic book material should be tbh. finding out through various other media what the more typical level is was disappointing
