I wish they didn’t have to deafen you every time you change smoke/CO2 alarm batteries.

I have a carbon monoxide alarm that started beeping.. and the battery is not replaceable. It also can't go in regular waste bins. So.. now it has been beeping away the last 6 months in a drawer in my garage. 🥲

isnt that what many modern EXIT signs are? like radioactive waste that will just... glow for decades? That's what we need in our smoke detectors.

Ours usually do that around 11PM so not too bad. I just hate the wild loud beep when new batteries get put in.
