The farmers in all states have been living on taxpayer money forever. Everything is subsidized, including not growing anything at all and leaving fields alone.

And planting in known flood plains. I never got that but its really a thing. They make huge amounts of money purposely flooding fields of food. This is when capitalism has gone horribly wrong
