Did your child's desire to be a dog persist, from as early on as he can remember all the way through puberty and beyond?

Was it possible for your child to become a dog, if that's what he actually wanted? Could he have taken medication to postpone otherwise inevitable changes that would make going through that process later in life exponentially more expensive and painful?
