It never really changed. if they say “bless your heart” it means “fuck you.” It’s gas guzzling pick-up trucks and guns that permeate the state now. it’s never been live and let live there. Living there, the racist comments were abundant amongst people I knew. Especially the “evangelicals.”

Maybe it was just the part I was in. I was working on a forestry project, and I remember them telling us that if we hear or see people coming through our camp at night just to let them be because they were looking for a better life. I haven’t heard that out of Texas in awhile.
Everything when south in Tex-ass after Ann Richards was Governor of Texas. Look at her successors: Dubya, Rick “dumber than a rock” Perry, and the wheelchair fascist, Greg Ab-butt! I feel bad for all my friends and family there. I hear pretty bad stories from them all the time.
