I wish I had more than a passing glance! It was flying over 65 while I was north of the split. But it definitely had a white head and darker body.

If a white head, it was most certainly a mature bald eagle. The immature are a little bit easier to confuse with other birds of prey but mature bald eagles with their white heads are unmistakable.
